My vision for the Lancaster County Treasurer’s Office is an office where experience guides decisions, information and procedures are consistent, communication is open, records and information are accurate, decisions are made with accountability, and services are accessible to the people who need them.
I envision an office where residents can find the information they need before they arrive, have more opportunities to receive help, and feel that their time is respected throughout their transaction. I want employees to have current information, clear procedures, and the tools they need to confidently assist the people they serve. My goal is an office that works efficiently, communicates clearly, uses taxpayer dollars responsibly, and continues looking for practical ways to improve the experience for both residents and employees.
- Clear, written procedures and consistent communication of changes and current information to employees.
- More appointment availability and open service windows so residents have more opportunities to receive help.
- Informed and accountable decisions based on the laws, rules, and responsibilities of the Treasurer’s Office, with follow-through when concerns or problems are raised.
- Accurate motor vehicle tax districts so tax revenue is distributed to the appropriate jurisdictions.
- Regular communication and updates about changes, services, and information that may affect residents or employees.
- Better use of technology so eligible documents can be submitted electronically and accessed by the employees assisting residents.
- Firsthand operational knowledge used to identify practical ways to improve services and processes.
- Resident feedback through comment cards and opportunities to share concerns, suggestions, and positive feedback.
- Online information that is easier to find and use, including forms and transaction requirements.
- Responsible use of taxpayer dollars while making sure employees have the supplies, equipment, and tools they need to do their jobs.
- Full-day downtown title transactions so residents have more hours available to complete title work.
- Employee input through opportunities to share concerns, experiences, and ideas about ways the office can improve.
- Greater continuity throughout transactions that require additional documents, additional steps, or a return visit.
- Current information for employees so residents receive accurate and consistent answers.
