As Treasurer, I will make decisions based on an understanding of the laws, rules, and responsibilities that govern the office. The person responsible for running the Treasurer’s Office should have the knowledge needed to make informed decisions and understand the requirements behind them.
I want concerns and problems to be addressed when they are brought forward. That includes concerns from residents as well as employees. If something needs to be corrected, reviewed, or changed, I want it followed through instead of allowing the issue to simply disappear.
I will be willing to explain the decisions I make and provide access to information that residents are legally entitled to receive. Policies, procedures, and decisions should not be kept from the public simply because allowing people to see them may lead to questions or criticism.
I want residents and employees to know that when they raise a legitimate concern, it will be taken seriously, and that the people responsible for running the office—including me—will be expected to answer for the decisions that are made.
